A new campaign has been launched, aiming to get the public to help protect UK water resources for future generations.
Led by the likes of the Environment Agency and Ofwat, Love Water, launched on 31 July, has the backing of over 40 environmental groups, charities, water companies and regulators. It is seeking to raise awareness of the importance of water and the role that everybody plays in protecting it.
The campaign will feature events and initiatives designed to engage the public and encourage them to enjoy both water and the environment. It will include things such as beach and river clean-ups. It is also inviting businesses and other companies to support the campaign through promotional activity while pledging to take action to save water and reduce both pollution and waste.
Long term, the campaign has the ambition of making businesses include water-saving and pollution reduction as part of their operational and corporate responsibility targets.
