Research to explore impact of energy advice

ACE Research, under the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE), is to monitor and evaluate the impact of energy advice to 15,000 consumers across nine European countries.

The research, announced on 5 August, is part of the Solutions to Tackle Energy Poverty (STEP) project which is being funded through the EU Horizon2020 programme. It is being delivered by nine consumer-focused partners with Citizens Advice participating from the UK. ACE Research will develop an Energy Saving Evaluation Model (ESEM) to process data and model primary energy savings, investment in sustainable energy and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions triggered by the project.

The UK is one of the nine countries, with activity based around Reading, Coventry and Manchester. The others are Lithuania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia and Slovakia.
